Country crooner and 90s rocker Darius Rucker is next in line to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles, California, according to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.

Rucker joins nearly 2,700 past and present celebrities on Hollywood Boulevard, where the stars are affixed on the sidewalk near the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre in L.A.

His ceremony is slated for Dec. 4 at 3:30 p.m., according to a press release from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The star address will be 7065 Hollywood Blvd.

The South Carolina native rose to fame as the frontman for Hootie & The Blowfish, selling more than 25 million albums and putting on one of the most top-grossing tours of the past century. In 2008, he debuted his country career as a solo artist and has since had 10 No. 1 singles on country radio, according to the chamber.

The honor comes amid the release of Rucker's latest country album, "Carolyn's Boy," and on the heels of an announcement that he'll tour with Hootie and the Blowfish in 2024 as part of a reunion tour.

Guest speakers for the Dec. 4 ceremony have yet to be announced, but are typically industry peers and mentors who have worked closely with the honoree during his or her career.

Rucker will join other SC-born like Eartha Kitt, Viola Davis and James Brown on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Chadwick Boseman, an Anderson, S.C. native and star of Marvel's "Black Panther," will be remembered with a posthumous star next year, according to the Chamber. Boseman died in 2020 after a private battle with colon cancer.
