The use of South Carolina’s two state airplanes became a flashpoint of controversy during budget talks last week — which ended with state senators voting to sell them. Controversy over the planes flared up in February when The State
reported Clemson University was the heaviest user of state-owned planes. It sparked a legislative debate about whether college football programs should be using the state planes to recruit players.

Girls Rock is, when boiled down to its essence, about volume. But not just about the loudness of electric guitars and drum kits, or even the creative process of writing a song — it’s about volume on a much more profound level.
