The Manning-churian Candidate?

Unemployed, a potential felon and a political nobody, Alvin Greene came out of nowhere to win the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate. How’d he do it?

i suppose it's out of the question that - just as in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and other places this year - that people want nothing to do with any incumbent or anyone whose background smacks of insider status? Hmmm? Of course not, people will vote for the Democrat if given the chance. Tell, me, then, how the uneducated black woman voter this article sneers at was so dumb she voted for Mr. Greene yet smart enough to vote for Mr. Sheheen as well? Ever occur to you elitists that Mr. Obama has been a resounding disappointment from Day One? Ever occur to Mr. Clyburn that his coattails aren't wide enough to cover his lardy butt, never mind long enough to carry a vote for the "preferred" candidate? Better get with the program, y'all. The preferred candidate was Mr. Greene - so sayeth the voters.

From time to time, an eccentric person runs for office. The late Abe Hirshfeld of New York comes immediately to mind. I sincerly believe Alvin Greene used most of his savings to pay the election filing fee. Now, why did Greene get the majority of the votes? It would be nice if the voting machines were proven to have flipped the ballots. But I have to confess that in past general elections I have voted for Democratic candidates whom I knew nothing about. It never occured to me I could be voting for someone with no ability to hold the office. I have the sinking feeling that Mr. Greene was elected fair-and-square by an uninformed electorate.

Big AL here, I'll sue every one of you racists bigots for denying the primary win. I've got the other AL on my side. He nows how to fite the machine. Your messing with democricy. Your disenfranchizing voters. Wait till all America finds out how your trying to steal what was won fair and square with their votes.

How can we vote 4 someone who never campaigned and who u don't know anything about! Wow, he is going to represent SC in Washington. Wake up people, we need to do our homework before we go to the polls.

While the Dems gnash their teeth over the failure of their corporate bosses to place their chosen candidate, the rising star in the race is the Green party candidate - Tom Clements. He will sweep in disaffected Dems who could never go with Mr. Greene and Republicans who are tired of incumbents and the mess in Washington. Clements is the real Mr. Green! http://clementsforsenate.com/

To Frank A. Who is Mr. Obama? He is our president and he should be address at all time as President Obama. Next, he is innocent until proven guilty. I do pray for him that's for sure because they are going to make a mockery out of him.

Tom Clements has a campaign Facebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/!/pages/Tom-Clements-for-US-Senate/128952760459672?ref=ts. Check out his bio. Tom's qualified to take on DeMint.

This guy is as retarded as they come. He is a typical Democrate as all Dems are retarded.
JACK June 19th 09:56am
The best option for this election is Tom Clements, with the Green Party. He will challenge DeMint for being the corporate stooge he is. The campaign was a website: http://clementsforsenate.com/ a facebook page (as noted above): http://www.facebook.com/pages/Tom-Clements-for-US-Senate/128952760459672 and someone has set up a Dems & Republicans for Clements" facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Tom-Clements-for-US-Senate/128952760459672!/group.php?gid=135581266454564&ref=mf

RACISM IS WRONG...PERIOD !!! Your article stated " Kevin Gray, a prominent black activist and author is South Carolina, says he voted for Greene...."Alvin Greene, that name looked black"" I wonder how Mr. Gray would feel about a black man being denied a job SOLELY because of the color of his skin? Mr. Gray denied a man (Mr.Rawl) a job SOLELY because of the color of his skin. I believe we call THAT Racism...therefore, Mr. Gray is an admitted racist. His ACTIONS have said so. His words have said so. I truly hope that Free Times TOTALLY IGNORES anything Mr. Gray EVER has to say again. RACISM is dividing America. Racism is dividing South Carolina. Mr Gray is part of the PROBLEM.... Again, RACISM IS WRONG ...PERIOD !! regardless of the skin color of the person guilty of racism. !!!

I thought the writer of this piece did a nice job of looking at the actually story and not being a jerk to Greene. I'm not a fan of Greene, but it seems unfair to completely rip on him after his win. Even if no one knew who he was when they voted for him.
