I find this article amazing and disgusting. How can city council and the city administratino allow this to continue? I'm glad someone at the city (Bill Ellis) finally has the guts to stand up and say he's not going to take the fall for other people's incompetance. I have a feeling that Tony Lawton came to power under Charles Austin's reign. If you live in the city, let your council person and our mayor know we're tired of being treated like idiots. Let's get rid of this crook!

So Tony has finally been caught! Good job, Free Times and Ron Aiken! There are so many violations of law in this article it boggles the mind. The shady and illegal dealings of this jerk needed to see the light. And that's not even mentioning city council. A few thought they could derail Daniel Rickenmann and I am happy to read of his vindication. CEZ and council should be hanging their heads in shame, but I'm sure they think it will just go away as it always has in the past. I had to snigger at Boobhead throwing his support behind this crime. Elect NO INCUMBENTS! This must end now.

A quick search of Tony Lawton reveals that he makes $108,000 a year, up from $101,000 in 2008. Now why is this guy getting a $7k raise when obviously not only isn't he doing his job, he's conducting criminal activity right under the mayor's nose? This while the other city employees are on furloughs? This stinks to high heaven and will continue to stink unless we use our heads in the next election. This is the guy that Steve Benjamin just happened to be in business with for that shoddy hotel deal the CEZ is supposed to be doing. That's no coincedence and it's not the first time those two have done business together. Electing Benjamin will just continue to muddle up our city government.

Wow. It seems the city has an unlimited supply of money. (taxpayer money) I feel bad to say it but the city needs to clean house of it's admin staff. Sr. Admin Baker was second in command of Parks&Rec when he came to the city. Now he is the senior admin. That is a pretty big upgrade. I hope things get worked out. Columbia is a great place and if managed right it could do great things.

Tony Lawton and Gilbert Walker both should be fired now! I will not vote for any incumbents till this happens.

Lawton, Benjamin, and Issac all have some shady business deals with the city. Issac not only the problems in this article but the incredible inflated amount she charged for house closings in Rosewood several years ago - land the one of the development corps bought. I believe it was 10 to 15x more than a normal house closing. I am glad the leaders of our community have such integrity - NOT!

How can Bob Coble say "“If there were [problems], we’d look into it and be happy to do something about it”? This kind of head in the sand mentality is why our City is so screwed up! What an embarassment! I also hear that Mr. Lawton is the god-father of Tameika Isaac Devine's child. Voters, we need to clean house and elect ethical people on City Council.

There is one man who has never had an ethical conflict in his entire life because he has never been motivated by money. My business partner, Grant Robertson is the man for City Council At-Large in 2010! Just go and talk to him at 936 Harden Street at the F-Stop, Tuesday through Saturday 11am to 6pm and he will let you know about his vision for transparency and accountability in Columbia. How do I know he doesn't care about money? We run a FILM camera shop together!
