If Lexington Med doesn't like it, they should fight it by simply offering superior service. Isn't that how capitalism is supposed to work? Eight miles can be the difference between life and death for certain, serious medical emergencies. Lexington Medical is attempting to deprive the people of Irmo the ability for faster emergency care for the sake of the almighty dollar. I, for one, am all for a new facility close to home. If nothing else, it would be a comfort knowing that care is just around the corner if and when it's needed.
