To answer Rodney Oldham's questions:
1. Mr. Frye was treated quite well, and in a manner appropriate to coaching a national championship team in women's outdoor track and field. Boo Major, who coached the USC women's equestrian team to several Hunter Seat equestrian national championships, has received far less attention than has Mr. Frye.
2. See 1. Neither Mr. Frye nor Ms. Major received the "love and adoration" that Mr. Tanner is receiving because relatively few people care about national championships in women's outdoor track and field or Hunter Seat equestrian.
3. Yes, the governor gave Mr. Frye the Order of the Palmetto in June 2009, in stark contrast to the snubbing of Ms. Major, who has yet to receive the Order of the Palmetto.
4. No, but by the same token, the USC flag didn't fly when USC won its first equestrian national title.
5. No, but by the same token, USC's women's equestrian team got neither a parade nor an elaborate celebration.
Until the grave injustice done to Boo Major is rectified and she is treated as well as Mr. Frye has been, South Carolina indeed has a ways to go.

Mayor Bob, we all breathed a sigh of relief knowing that you were not going to seek re-election. I guess you saw the writing on the wall. I think your "Sound Off" article about Kevin shows how classless you really are. Thanks for nothing.

What Mayor Bob and most leftists who know better than anyone else what is good for them is that ideas are always valuable even when in the minority! Bob has made a lot of costly mistakes during his four lustrums and Kevin has held him to account for most of them. Good work Mr. Fisher. Don't stop now.

I made a mistake in my previous comment here.
A lustrum in republican Rome was for an elected term of 4 years. Bob served 5, not 4, of them.
How much better would Columbia be if he had been mayor the past 8 years? After all, Mayor Bob and others picked John Edwards for POTUS. A few minutes of listening to the Breck Girl was enough to tell me that Edwards was not worth voting for. Why couldn't Bob figure that out?
Kevin, thank you for all your work. Someone has to shine light into the dark recesses of city hall.
