Alvin Greene's ideas would fit in perfectly with the Democrats already in Congress.

There's nothing wrong with Alvin Greene. I have a problem with people mocking him all the time. So he's not a great speaker. I could care less. What's that got to do with voting yea or nay? Let's get the meat off the bones of his interviews. Here's what I see...
He's fiscally conservative, frugal, knows how to save money towards a goal. He lives at home and he's 32 years old...I hear people making fun of this all the time. Well, what I get out of that is he's family oriented, staying home caring for his elderly father. And I'd like to thank him for not contributing to our housing and economic crisis. He has sense enough to know he cannot buy a home with money he does not have. Doesn't sound slow or mental to me. It's not supposed to be normal to be in debt and spend more money than you make, or spend what you don't have. Maybe Greene can bring normal back? Too many folks like DeMint getting a pass for just putting a sentence together.
You Say You Want the Common Man
You say you want the common man
Well, voters, I'm calling your bluff.
Are you really through with establishment's crew?
Have you really had enough?
Are you all hat and no cattle?
Are your words strong or are they weak?
This time I'm asking "Hey, voters, sincerely, where's the beef?"
We have the chance to watch you dance
Or stand against the wall.
This time you have a nominee
Who owes no one at all.
So, are you ready for the common man?
That has yet to be foreseen.
South Carolina, here's your chance
To lead by going Greene!

Admit it, Kevin. You've invested in the Alvin Greene action figure venture, haven't you?

Right on! I've been writing about Greene from down here in the swamp for over a month now. I beat the national press to the SLED story and you are absolutely right. Good work and thank you. Tip: If he plays it right this weekends NAACP appearance might be the first roll-out of a new Alvin Greene with a serious run at the Senate.

Of course there is a vaild issue regarding Greene's selection for candidacy. Probably, like so many nowadays, they didn't vote for Greene as much as they voted against the incumbent.
Yet, for about 200 years now, citizenry has been charged with being informed voters, both on issues and candidates. "Heck, anybody would be better than senator so-and-so." Well, be careful what you wish for as the old saying goes. This isn't a case of Mr Smith goes to Washington - the old black and white movie about someone with a vision of good being elected to the Congress.
Unless I'm mistaken, Mr. Greene's strategy is to remain low, avoiding speaking about the issues, and hoping his avoid any confrontation will carry him through.
Candidates do owe potential voters a look at their agenda and position on certain ideas. Of course no one's under any obligation to do so, but they shouldn't expect to get a majority vote. If Mr Greene does this, then it will really make the folks of this great state look foolish. Heck, even Adolph Hitler had a platform.
Hopefully the day hasn't come where voters become so disintrested in politics that they vote for just anyone, based upon how their name sounds or looks on a ballot.
Being a US citizen shouldn't be a spectator sport. When people lose interest, apathy sets in, and that can lead to a disasterous government---or lack thereof.
