COLUMBIA — Let me set the scene for you; a crowded room, shoulder to shoulder, bodies moving, and voices lifted. Homemade Haircuts have been sweeping the state (and conquering others) for the last five years.
Ever since, the Homies have made a name for themselves. This year alone they have played 36 shows across South Carolina; playing in an empty swimming pool, their first gig at The Senate, a special show at Indah Coffee, headlining NoMa Warehouse’s SolFest RollFest.
These cats are hungry and wanting to play. They've been on the road venturing to New York City, Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky and the southeast states.
As a fan since their first performance, it is truly wonderful to experience their lust and passion for the music. They interact with the crowd in a way that I haven’t seen many in their peer group do, and invite and invoke movement at each show.
This was a special show, and their last time playing at the original New Brookland Tavern in West Columbia. Their next gigs in Columbia include the Jam Room Fest on Main Street on Nov. 4 and Art Bar on Dec. 1.
