A lot of things have been happening at the University of South Carolina's Department of Art since the hiring of its new director, Peter Chametzky, last year. Most recently, the name has been officially changed to the School of Visual Art and Design [online copy corrected]. This change came from a decision made by faculty and approved by the Board of Trustees. In addition, the school’s website has received a facelift, including an updated faculty and alumni page. The school has also beefed up its security, including the installation of Carolina card access points on three doors to the McMaster Building for after-hours access to students.
