The Post and Courier has invited all five candidates who’ll be on the gubernatorial ballot to the two debates it’s hosting ahead of the November election.
Gov. Nikki Haley has accepted the invitation, according to the paper, and independent candidate Tom Ervin sent out a press release Thursday afternoon saying he plans to attend.
Also invited are Democrat Vincent Sheheen, Libertarian Steve French and United Citizens Party nominee Morgan Bruce Reeves.
In the past, candidates such as Reeves have complained about being excluded from debates.
The Post and Courier’s debates will be held Oct. 14 and Oct. 21, both at 7 p.m. The first debate focuses on jobs, the economy and growth, while the second focuses on education and health care.
