Looking for new ways to satisfy your craving for Southern cuisine? Kent Whitaker and Sheila Simmons have recently released the South Carolina Hometown Cookbook as part of their State Hometown Cookbook series. The South Carolina edition features recipes gathered from around the state such as Granny Wade’s Pecan Pie, Bill’s Fried Green Tomatoes and Creole Catfish.
“With the hometown cookbooks, we try to capture a variety of recipes, celebrations and festivals that offer a fresh taste of hometowns across the United States,” Whitaker wrote when asked about the series on the Great American Publishers website.
Other hometown cookbooks are based on recipes from Georgia, Texas and Tennessee.
