COLUMBIA — Methodical Coffee, a Greenville-based cafe, will open a store in Columbia's BullStreet District.

The expansion is the first outside of Greenville for the coffee company, which has three locations in the burgeoning Upstate city.

The two-story coffee shop, set for 2149 Pickens St., is expected to open in November, according to a press release from the company. It joins a handful of other coffee shops within walking distance of the bustling retail district — Starbucks, Indah and Curiosity Coffee Bar.

The coffee shop is another grab for the BullStreet District, a growing retail district and neighborhood anchored by Segra Park, the baseball stadium of Columbia's minor league team the Fireflies.

So far, the BullStreet District has seen the opening of multiple apartment complexes, Iron Hill Brewery and Restaurant, Starbucks and REI Sporting Goods. Asheville-based brunch restaurant Tupelo Honey also has plans to open in the area.
